Travel Checklist: Ski Trip Packing
Hitting the slopes? It's important to remember all of your equipment so you don't have to buy overpriced gear at the shop on the mountain. We recommend bringing the following items.
SKI GEAR AND CLOTHING: Skis, poles, boots (unless you are renting) Helmets for children Sunscreen and lip balm Parka or ski jacket Thermal underwear (one pair per person per day of skiing; lightweight synthetic fabrics are best) Insulated ski pants, snow suits or nylon shell to wear over warm pants Gloves or mittens Hats Goggles or sunglasses Neck gaiters Ski socks Turtlenecks Sweaters Street clothes for each day (place kids' outfits for each day in zippered plastic bags) Snow boots Undergarments Sleepwear Accessories Bathing suits
BASICS: Wallet and/or purse and cash (sometimes we forget the most obvious things) Credit cards and/or traveler's checks (plus list of numbers of both) ID or driver's license Car and house keys (plus duplicate sets kept in different bags) Eyeglasses and/or contact lenses (plus lens cleaner) Watch Medical insurance cards Prescriptions and other medications Itineraries, tickets and reservation confirmations Maps and directions Totebag, waist pack or backpack for day use Camera and film Books and magazines for kids and adults Toys, playing cards, small games Flashlight and batteries Umbrella and rain jackets Large plastic bags for laundry and wet items Small plastic bags Disposable wipes (or put damp paper towels in zippered plastic bags) Pocketknife Sunglasses Travel alarm Sewing kit First-aid kit Snacks/gum Water/juice boxes, no-spill cups Paper napkins/towels
TOILETRIES: Toothbrushes, toothpaste, dental floss and mouthwash Deodorant Combs, brushes, hair accessories, blow dryer (if hotel does not provide one) Shampoo and conditioner Sunscreens and lip balm Lotions Insect repellent Shaving gear Cosmetics Nail clippers, scissors and emery boards Tweezers Cotton balls and/or swabs Feminine hygiene items
FOR BABY: Car seat Diaper bag Disposable diapers Changing pad Baby powder and lotion Zippered plastic bags Wet wipes Nursing pads and burp pads Bibs Baby food and spoon Bottles, nipples and caps Formula and/or juice Pacifiers Changes of clothing Jacket or sweater Collapsible stroller with canopy or umbrella Front or back child-carrying pack, or sling style Blankets Waterproof sheets Bathing supplies Large plastic bags for wet clothes (can also be used as a changing pad in a pinch)
