Hilton Vacation Station 2004 Packs All the Right Ingredients for Families to Enjoy a Great Summer Holiday
It's never too early to start planning for that summer family vacation. Now in its 12th year, Hilton Vacation Station(R) continues to develop innovative new programs and services to help bring out the kid in everyone for summertime fun at 59 family-friendly destinations across the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico and Mexico.
From Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend, every family that stays at a participating Hilton Vacation Station hotel or resort will receive a complimentary welcome gift for each young guest in their party, ages one to 12. This summer, children will be treated to the Hilton Vacation Station Cooler Carrier, a compact canvas bag that has an insulated compartment to hold lunch or snacks, a mesh-net drink holder on the side and an extra pocket for kids to stow all the goodies they can carry for fun on the road.
To fill those Cooler Carriers, Hilton Vacation Station Snack Pack services will be available this summer at all Hilton Vacation Station hotels and resorts. Designed to fit in the insulated section of the Cooler Carrier, each Snack Pack includes a choice of snack options -- from healthy items to salty and sweet selections. Parents can order Hilton Vacation Station Snack Pack selections, which are priced under $4.00, via room service for pick up at participating hotel restaurants.
"Keeping kids' energy levels up to see all the sights during a summer vacation is very important to traveling families. Our new Snack Pack service is a convenient way to keep the smallest to the biggest members of the travel party happy," said Joanie Flynn, vice president of leisure marketing for Hilton Hotels Corporation (NYSE:HLT). "Year after year, Hilton Vacation Station is proud of its efforts in making family getaways easier, so that parents can focus on what's really important to them -- a special and enjoyable time together with their kids."
Just in case the kids run through all the toys and music they bring from home in a hurry, Hilton Vacation Station is one of the only hotel programs to provide free use of toys and games to kids and families during their hotel stay through its unique Toy Lending Desk.
The Toy Lending Desk includes a wide selection of age-appropriate toys and games for children (and adults) to borrow for hours of great family interaction and entertainment.
"There's something for all age groups at our Hilton Vacation Station Toy Lending Desk. Best of all, our offerings provide hours of FREE entertainment that you don't have to pack or pay for," said Flynn. "Toy Lending Desk selections are available across all age categories and range from the newest of toys to the most classic family games. By taking advantage of this service, families might even rediscover the pleasure and entertainment of an intimate game night together during their vacation."
Hilton Vacation Station also assists parents by offering destination-specific information about local happenings and attractions, removing the hassle of pre-planning.
Supervised kids activities in half and full-day sessions are available at 14 of the most popular Hilton Vacation Station family destinations. Each of these programs not only provides kids with the opportunity to interact and meet other kids from around the world, it also provides them with an array of fun and educational activities that have been specially designed to reflect the local area. Programs range from mini golf and making chips and salsa at a Mexican restaurant to visiting local museums and aquariums to learn about the natural and cultural wonders of the place they are visiting. Fees and age qualifications vary by location. Multiple child discounts are available at most locations.
Children age 18 and under stay free in the same room with their parents or grandparents at all U.S. Hilton properties (subject to room occupancy and local fire safety regulations). Outside the U.S., children's age qualification varies by location. Hilton Vacation Station is offered at no additional charge to guests traveling with children age 12 and under to participating hotels from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend and is available in conjunction with all packages and accommodation types at participating locations.
