Stockholm - The Most Beautiful Capital In The World
Stockholm is not as big and famous as Paris, London or New York. Still it is regarded as one of the most beautiful capitals in the world. The Swedish city captures the heart of every visitor.
Arriving in Stockholm is already something special. From your plane you will see the water, the immense green areas, the fourteen islands with the colorful buildings that make up Stockholm ..... You are in a holiday mood even before you set your first step on Swedish ground.
Located between the lake Mälaren and the Baltic Sea, Stockholm is sometimes called the Venice of the North. And, indeed, there is water everywhere. However, you don’t need a gondola to get around. An extensive bus and subway network takes you everywhere.
Importance of Travel Insurance
You've finally saved enough to go on that dream vacation you've been planning. Now you're wondering if you should buy travel insurance. Do I really need to go to the extra expense? All I can lose is my luggage, right?
Guess again! Anything can go wrong while you are traveling, and I strongly favor buying a policy.
Most travel insurance policies are designed for a variety of travel needs but, I emphatically advise reading the fine print of any policy you purchase regarding any deductibles...
Hartman Luggage
Hartman luggage has been around for a while. The advent of the steam engine in the mid
1820s heralded the first wave of mass tourism. Mass organized travel probably began
in 1841 when a 33 year old Thomas Cook organized his first rail tour. And from then
onwards, luggage has performed a dual role of not only protecting one’s belongings,
but also surreptitiously declaring one’s social status. Travel was the exclusive realm
for the leisure of the well-heeled. The end of the Napoleonic ...
Trailing the Tiger
So there are destinations and destinations, each offering their distinct USPs. Hot
attractions that draw tourists seeking an ‘experience’ to carry home – a trophy to
substantiate a battery of travel yarns. But in this craze for acquiring the best
seller, our jetsetter often overlooks the finer details – colours that give a place
meaning and significance. After all isn’t the great thing about travel, the joy of
savouring an authentic experience in its ...

more to true happiness than just jumping in the car, but for many people,
self-actualization does involve discovering new places, new cultures, beautiful
nature and secret little hideaways. Kathleen Walls, publisher of American Roads
Magazine, and David Leonhardt, publisher of Your Daily ...
Solo Business Travels
In the last 10 to 20 years, advance in technology has transformed many aspects of business travel; from the way we book our hotel rooms to staying in touch with relatives left at home.
However it seems that it has not changed one aspect of it: the feeling of loneliness faced by a majority of business people while travelling and in particular, while dining and drinking in the evening at hotels.
The latest Barclaycard Business Travel Survey (www.barclaycard.co.uk) shows that, whereas 95% of ...

Freeport Grand Bahamas Island - Guide and Tips
Freeport in Grand Bahama Island is the closest of all the Bahamas to the USA. A quick 45 minute flight from Fort Lauderdale or Miami will get you into Freeport. It is a very popular destination because of its close proximity and the fact that US dollars are widely accepted. There are two main clusters of hotels and resorts on Grand Bahama Island. One is at the Port Lucaya area located on the south shore of island and the other is near downtown Freeport which is more inland. There are also other individual resorts scattered around the west and south shores of the 97 by 17 mile island.
I have traveled to Freeport twice and stayed in the Port Lucaya area both times. Most of the hotels here are next to
the Port Lucaya Marketplace which is a collection of restaurants, boutiques and other retail services. In addition to
the higher end retail, there are also small outdoor vendors selling cheaper goods such as souvenirs and t-shirts. One
should be aware that much of the items available for sale from these vendors are not actually made in the Bahamas but
overseas in Asia. There is also a nice sized marina here for those coming to the island via private boat. For those
interested in scuba diving, the Unexso operator is very convenient since it is located next to the marketplace. There
are also deep sea fishing excursions offered here as well. At the center...
Desert Travel - Travel in Desert Tips
Most of the scenic destination profiles and photos you'll see on my Scenic Treasures site will be in the Southwestern area of the United States. And just like any other area of the world where weather can be extreme, there are things you should know before starting out on your adventure. Even if you're just planning a day trip, these are very important:
1. Take extra water. Both for your vehicle and the people travelling with you. A good rule of thumb is to have at least 1 gallon per person, plus 1 or more gallons for your car.
2. Take snacks or dried food items. This should be something that can hold up to a lot of heat. The desert gets extremely hot at certain times of the year, and inside your car it can go well above 150 degrees. So you want food items that can withstand those temperatures without going bad.
3. Take blankets, sheets, towels, or other items that can block the sun. If your car breaks down, you can hang these
on the windows to keep most of the strength out, thus keeping out some of the heat...
The pudding club
If puddings be the food of love... Roam no further than Chipping Campden in the heart of the English Cotswolds to indulge in your passion along with 40 to 50 fellow aficionados twice a month throughout the year.
The Three Ways House Hotel at Mickleton near Chipping Campden has been the heart beat of The Pudding Club for the past 20 years. The club was set up in 1985 to preserve the best great British pudding recipes.
At each event after a light main course seven puddings are served to appreciative diners. A master of ceremonies asks his guests to vote on their favourite pudding encouraging everybody to put caution to the wind, forget about that expanding waistline, and enjoy the sublime treats.
To celebrate the success of her recently established Dining Club at Colliers Hill, Jackie Miller and a business associate and founder member of the dining club, Andrew Nunn, visited the Pudding Club at the end of May to sample the last of the winter selection.
On the menu on this occassion was; Jam and Coconut Pudding, Sticky Toffee and Date Pudding, Lord Randall’s Pudding,
Spotted Dick, Tutti Frutti Pudding, Very Chocolate Pudding, and Apple Crumble...
Yacht Chartering in Greece
The sailing season in Greece lasts from March to early November. During the Spring months, the weather during the day varies from cool to warm and is usually cool at night. The sea temperature is not usually suitable for swimming until the middle of May and then you can swim right through to the middle of October. The months of May, June, September and October usually have warm to hot daytime temperatures and pleasant temperatures at night. There are good winds at this time, but they are often variable. In July and August there are stronger winds, particularly in the Cyclades islands. Spring and Autumn are the most popular seasons for yacht chartering in Greece because this is when the climate is most suitable and there are far fewer tourists on the mainland and on the islands, than in high Summer.
Deciding on the Type of Charter
There are many options to choose from and when planning your trip you should consider the following questions. How
many people will be in your party and will they require single or double berths aboard? Do you require a sailing yacht,
a motor yacht or a motorsailer? What level of comfort do you want aboard? Will you require a skipper? If you require a
bareboat (i.e. you intend to do the sailing yourself, without a skipper or other professional crew aboard), what size
of yacht are you experienced in handling? Remember that European regulations, require...
Viewpoints on Whale Watching in Hermanus!
If you're looking to spot a whale, the first few things you'll hear people say is:
“Hermanus has the best land-based whale watching in the world” and “You're sure to see hundreds of whales breaching from the waters off the rocky cliffs to the West” or “You'll definitely see them lob tailing from the vantage point of the golden beaches to the East”.
And this indeed is a fact.
Every year, like clockwork, the whales return to Hermanus for their yearly rendezvous in Walker Bay, carrying out their annual rhythms of mating and calving.
Considering what people actually understand about the Southern Right Whale - named because it was the “right” whale to hunt – the whales perspective will always be something mysterious and unknown.
What we do know is that they prefer the warmer waters of Walker Bay for a breeding ground rather than the cold waters of their usual haunt, the Arctic Circle.
According to the calendar they can be seen from July to November. What areas of Walker Bay or the time of day to expect
them is hard to say. But there is one expert in Hermanus who is sure to know...
Cunard World Cruise Ships
Traveling famously on a Transatlantic crossing or cruising the world on a stately Cunard has been the exemplar of the good life for 163 years. Cunard’s rich legacy of lustrous White Star Service™ and realm of privileged indulgence are the gold standard by which others are measured. Few thrills compare...
Cunard has launched nearly 180 ships with enough firsts and foremost to be forever inscribed in maritime history. Canadian Samuel Cunard began his steamship company in the early 1800's with a vision, but it is unlikely he foresaw ships with the size, speed or cultured, gracious living afforded by the magnificent Cunarders of today.
The onboard ambience attracts a loyal following of guests with similar interests and values - the opportunity to socialize with peers who share so much in common is one of the great joys of "traveling Cunard."
Cunard Cruise Lines White Star Service can only be described as truly European in that staff attends to every
desire with polite, gracious and highly responsive attention - unobtrusive but very much there. When you first
come on board...
