Online Travel Market
After co-founding multi-billion dollar Internet corporation MP3.com, Rod Underhill took some time off to indulge his literary, musical, and film making pursuits. One such pursuit was the authoring of The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Making Millions on the Internet, published by Alpha. Mr. Underhill is a leading authority on this subject with credibility and knowledge gained from his integral role in building MP3.com from a startup with only $10,000 dollars in the bank to an Internet behemoth once valued at $2.2 billion dollars.
“My goal is to drive results at RideOnTime.com that will dwarf my past achievements at
MP3.com, including the $525 million dollar IPO and subsequent $320 million dollar
acquisition by Vivendi-Universal,” said Mr. Underhill. RideOnTime.com has finally
enabled the integration of the ground transportation industry into the online travel
market through the real time provision of fare quotes and estimates for travelers
utilizing taxi and limousine services. RideOnTime.com announced today co-founder Rod

New Guide Sheds Light on a Growing Trend in Travel: Cultural Photography
Travelers can now get more from their experiences by simply changing how they use their cameras. The new Pop Culturosity Photography Guide shows travelers how to use photography as a means to gain insight and build connections with other cultures. The release of the guide, which is free for a limited time and available immediately from Culturosity.com, signifies the growing popularity of "cultural photography."
Kate Berardo, author of the guide, says one of the key differences between cultural
photography and travel photography is the focus of the photographer. "Travel
photography includes 'paper trophy' photos," she says, "where people take pictures of
themselves and those they travel with in front of famous landmarks. With cultural
photography, people focus their cameras and their energy more on the cultures around
them instead of themselves...

The Cancun User's Guide is printed on demand using on-demand publishing tool Lulu (www.lulu.com ), which allows it to be continuously revised. "The book you have is the book we lived," Jules says. "We're still living it, so the book is always growing."
Cancun is not just a tourism resort, Jules Siegel explains, but a brilliant example of
modern Mexican economic planning and social engineering. Siegel also run...
Holiday Home Sales and Rentals Buck the Trend in Travel and Tourism Industry
The toursit boom may be slowing down in many areas, but for properties abroad, the market continues to rise with unprecedented demand for private holiday homes ranging from apartments to luxury villas.
One UK based web site launched last year is seeing a consistent rise in numbers of visitors and is turning those visitors into cash.
"People are sick of the hard sell" Says David Carter, owner of PrivateVilla.co.uk. "So, they turn to the Internet and search for the deal that looks right for them. By dealing with smaller, local companies, they are able to find the correct property for them - not simply what a sales person wants to sell them".
Carter's site might not be unique, but his style is refreshing. He allows all holiday property owners to advertise free and doesn't even charge a commission on rentals.
In addition, he advertises properties for sale on behalf of local companies, making
sure that there is no competition in any given area. To date, he has successfully
introduced clients in Florida, USA, Cyprus and Spain...

A Rough Guide To Maui
For a lifelong mainlander, planning a first Maui vacation can be a little daunting. For those that have yet to visit these two linked mountains towering above the middle of the ocean, there is a great deal of information that must be processed before plans can be started.
The place names are in a foreign language, the climate varies wildly, and every brochure makes every square inch of the island sound the same… paradise here and paradise there.
But Maui is not as complicated as it first seems. Start with some basic information to begin planning (graphic courtesy http://www.maui.us).
#1 - The higher you go, the cooler it gets, and Maui has two mountains. You can go from tropical warm and balmy by the shore (think Florida) to needing winter clothes at the top of Haleakala (think Scotland).
#2 - The side of the islands that face the wind (called “windward” and shaded in green)
are wetter than the side of the islands that are blocked from the wind ...

Transport Charter (www.transportcharter.com) celebrates the New Year with a new approach to group travel, offering consultancy to organisers that compares air, sea and land transportation options to match needs and budget – and then delivers the solution.

Family Vacation Planning Website Expands its Coverage
VERTEX Management, and its research partner, Specifics, Inc. have assumed full ownership of www.vacationswithkids.com, the family to family Web site to help parents find the best places to take a vacation with children. Tips on where to stay and what to do are included.
This free site contains ratings and verbatim remarks from more than 3,500 families who
took vacations at least 50 miles from home in the last year. The ratings data is from
surveys conducted during 2004, and it is updated daily with comments of families
providing ratings through the Website questionnaire. Respondents provide information
on the quality of accommodations, the quality of activities, the variety of dining
options and the perceived value for the dollars spent on their vacation. The surveys
also measured whether a family would return to that destination city or recommend that
city to other families, based on the ages of children and the number of nights they
planned to stay...

After several years of sending travelers on well-received Viking Challenge tours in Iceland now Iceland Adventure, LLC offers a choice between two tours.
The two tours feature: Kayaking, Horse back riding, White water rafting, Sea fishing, Hiking, Nature and birds, Whale watching and Mountain biking and a bit more.
